Daffodils ARE narcissus—“narcissus” is the botanical name for this sunny spring flower family, and “daffodil” is one of its most well-loved varieties💛

Fun fact: These beauties like their own space at first. Narcissus stems release a milky sap that can be harmful to other flowers in an arrangement. But there’s a simple workaround: let them soak solo in a vase of cool water for 4–6 hours before mixing them into a bouquet. Once conditioned, they’re ready to mingle!💐

I was pinching zinnias this weekend and admittedly screamed when I saw this guy! He was such a beautiful gray and green, but looked so different from the ones I usually see, he startled me 🤭Sharing a few picks of our harvest. I bought some seeds from @floretflower and they are amazingly beautiful! Long straight steams and the coloring is magical. It was one of Erin’s books that helped start this fire in me and I’m honored to grow some of her creations 🥰

It’s one of our favorite times of year — DAHLIA PLANTING SEASON!✨

Here in middle Tennessee (zone 7), late spring means the soil has warmed up, the risk of frost is behind us, and it’s time to tuck our dahlia tubers into the ground.

Each year, we plant over 1,500 tubers we’ve harvested and carefully saved from the year before. But this year is extra special — for the very first time, we’re sharing five of our favorite varieties with our community!🫶🏻

We’ll be posting more details soon! The tuber sale will take place in stories. Quantities are limited, so if you’ve been dreaming of homegrown dahlias, keep an eye out!☀️
