• Our dahlia tubers are lovingly grown and carefully separated on our farm in Santa Fe, TN.

• Each dahlia tuber is sold with a viable eye and true to its variety in sets of three. Please note that dahlias come in various shapes and sizes, so some varieties may shrivel a bit.

• Please take note of how best to store and plant after shipment. We don't offer refunds based on a change of mind, post-shipping conditions, or poor growing conditions.

 

Store your tubers in a cool, dark basement or garage. Just make sure they're on a shelf or off the concrete floor to keep them from losing moisture. Dahlia tubers will start waking up when it gets to 60 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer. Keep in mind, some varieties might take a bit longer to sprout. Dahlias usually bloom around 6 to 8 weeks after you plant them.

Only plant your dahlias once the frost is gone and the ground temperature is about 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Find a sunny spot for them and hold off on watering until they have three sets of leaves to prevent rotting. So, always check the weather before planting those lovely tubers.

For optimal growth, ensure that your dahlia tubers are planted in well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. Adding compost or aged manure to the soil can greatly enhance its fertility and structure, providing a healthy environment for the tubers to thrive. Regularly check for pests and diseases, and use organic or chemical treatments as needed to protect your plants.

As your dahlias grow, you may need to provide support for taller varieties. Staking or using a supportive cage will prevent the stems from breaking under the weight of the blooms. Deadheading spent flowers will encourage continuous blooming throughout the growing season.
